Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the Fidel Chrome extension ("Fidel", "the Extension") or the Fidel web app ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using Fidel on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.
2. Eligibility
Fidel requires a Figma account to operate. You must meet the minimum age requirements of Figma's Terms of Service (currently 13+). By using Fidel, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Description of Service
Fidel is a Chrome extension and companion web app that compares live web pages against Figma designs to identify visual discrepancies. The service includes heuristic matching, AI-assisted semantic matching, match score reporting, and shareable validation reports.
4. Account & Authentication
- You sign in to Fidel via Figma OAuth. We do not store your Figma password.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Figma account and any devices where the extension is installed.
- You must not share your authentication session or allow unauthorized access to your Fidel account.
5. Free and Paid Plans
Fidel offers both free and paid plans. Paid plans provide additional features such as increased validation limits, team collaboration, and priority AI matching.
- Billing: Paid plans are billed on a recurring subscription basis (monthly or annual). Fees are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
- Price changes: We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
- Free tier: The free plan may be modified or discontinued with reasonable notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Fidel to access Figma files you are not authorized to view
- Scrape, extract, or bulk-download design data for unauthorized purposes
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension
- Use Fidel in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Automate access to the Service beyond normal extension usage (e.g., scripted bulk validations)
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Fidel or its output without permission
7. Intellectual Property
- Fidel does not claim ownership of your Figma designs, web pages, or validation results
- Validation results generated by Fidel are yours to use, export, and share as you see fit
- Review feedback you submit may be used to improve Fidel's accuracy
- The Fidel extension, web app, branding, and documentation are owned by Fidel and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of Fidel is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- Your designs and web content are processed locally in your browser
- We do not sell your data
- You can delete your data at any time
- Anonymized telemetry is collected to improve the product
9. Third-Party Services
Fidel integrates with third-party services (Figma, Anthropic, Supabase). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
10. Service Availability
- We do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted access to the Service
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated when possible
11. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of validation results
- We are not liable for decisions made based on Fidel's output
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Fidel in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fidel, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights (including intellectual property rights)
- Content you submit through the Service
13. Termination
- You may stop using Fidel at any time by uninstalling the extension
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if required by law
- Upon termination, your local data remains in your browser until you clear it. Server-side data will be deleted upon request per our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Wyoming.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the extension, the web app, or email with at least 14 days' notice.
